Are you trying to think of ways to make your wedding a little more special, a little more unique, a little extra interesting? So am I! Here is a list of 13 cool extra things to have at your wedding that can really make it fun and unforgettable.
- Donut Tree – Picture delicious and beautiful donuts arranged in towers or pyramids on a table for guests to come up and sample.
2. Champaign Wall– I have seen nicely decorated wooden “walls,” usually with greenery, and designed to hold glass filled with champagne so that guests can come by and “pluck” one of the glasses from the wall when they are ready for another round.
3. Food Truck– Food trucks are so much fun and what better than a private one for a wedding?! These can be so cute and you can choose the food truck to serve whatever you want. I think a freshly squeezed lemonade stand for a summer wedding would be an amazing idea! It can add a bit of nostalgia to the celebration.
4. Sparkler Machines-THese are cool! I’ve seen them at other weddings and they really add something exciting to the reception while everyone is dancing. They are very safe too. I literally put my entire arm into the sparks and it felt like putting your hand in carbonated water.
5. Smores– I love the outdoors and if you are having a partial outdoor wedding or have access to a fire pit nearby, why not make a smores retreat for those who want a break from the dancing and to make themselves a tasty little treat.
6. Fireworks– Why not? If the place where your wedding is taking place permits it, then be dazzled by a really special light show!
7. Video Guest Log– THis is an interesting thing I came across while on my search for cool extra things to add to weddings. This is basically a video guest log or book where instead of signing their name, the guest can wish you well on the new chapter of your married life. You can have it set up by the place where you would normally have a guest book. Throughout the evening, guests can return to it after having a few drinks and feel more comfortable talking in front of the camera. It can be a really fun thing for you and your spouse to look back on.
8. Photo Booth– A classic and always fun!
9. Name in Lights– Whatever your married name is, you can have it displayed in lights as a fun projection or a neon sign. Your choice, but either adds something unique.
10. Games– Okay, so cornhole is kind of an Ohio thing, but you can always include different types of games at your wedding. Even a quick game of bingo that involves a prize of some sort can really get the guests interacting.
11. Comfy Shoes for the guests– This is just a thoughtful thing to do for all those people on the dance floor who may be in some tight and pointy shoes. Let them get some relief by having a spot where they can pick up a pair of shoes that can keep them dancing all night!
12. Live Music– Live music is so nice. Of course, it is extra. But it is beautiful and special.
13. Evening Snacks– Gotta love evening snacks as the party is getting a little hungry again from all that dancing. A nacho bar, nuggets, pretzel bites, fries, stator tots and so on can really give everyone the second wind they need!
